Supports hospitality research & projects that benefit the lodging industry. Proposals must address industry problems, have broad geographical appeal, & contribute to prosperity of the industry. Unsolicited applications for research grants are accepted 3/1 and 9/1 annually. Several scholarships are also available to support students pursuing a degree in hospitality management (5/1 annually). Students must be enrolled in hospitality management programs. Scholarships are available quarterly for those already working in the hotel industry. NRAEF has four awards: Educators--$1,750 and up in foodservice/hospitality who are interested in complementing classroom time with hands-on operational experience or attend a NRAEF Summer Institute. Undergrads--$2,500 and up for those who are already enrolled in postsecondary ed. High school seniors--$2,500 and up for those who want to study for a restaurant job.
